My Goals For 2019

(this cute banner is sold on Etsy for only £8.50 and I would definitely buy it if I was having a NYE party)

We only have a few days left in 2018 and I think most people are already planning the year and thinking of new years resolutions and goals. I set myself a bunch of goals every year and I usually achieve about half of them so this year I really want to focus and achieve them all.

Post at least once a week
My goal now is to post at least twice a week (every Monday and Thursday) but because Ive been so poorly Ive been struggling to get just one post up a fortnight. This year I want to really focus on posting consistently on my blog. If you have any posts you'd like to see then please comment on this post.

Read 20 books
I always set myself a goal of reading a certain amount of books during the year and next year I aim to read at least 20. I am a big book worm and I already have a list of books I want to read in 2019. One book Im desperate to read is Michelle Obamas autobiography because I think she is a brilliant and really interstening and inspiring woman.

Spend more time with friends
I dont spend nearly as much time as I’d like to mainly because I always have to cancel because Im feeling too poorly but this year I really want to focus on spending time with them because I am really lucky and I have a small group of really amazing friends.

Be more patient
Im far from a patient person and I hate nothing more than waiting. Its something I really need to work on especialy when it comes to waiting for people.

Practice yoga frequently
Ive really fallen in love with yoga over the last 2-3 months. I’ve tried to do yoga so many times in the past but the mistake I would do was push myself too much and do difficult poses and then I’d end up having a flare up and then I would hate yoga. But I’ve learnt now to listen to my body and to take it really easy and slowly. I dont follow any video or go to a class I just listen to my body and do some simple poses for at least 5 minutes. I find that yoga really helps with strengthening my muscles and stretching out my tight and painful muscles.

Go to bed by 10.30pm
I’ve had problems with my sleep for years now. I was put on sleeping pills when I was 14 and those knocked my out for days and since then I’ve just struggled with sleep. I need to get myself into a solid routie because I’m naturally a night owl but then I end up waking up far later than I’d like to in the morning so I want to start sleeping earlier and try to make a habit out of it.

Reach my “goal” weight
I am so close to my goal weight and I cant seem to get to it and stay there. I have lost about 3-4 stone over the years but I’ve really struggled to lose this last stone or so. I’ve gotten reallyclose to my target with Slimming World 2 years ago but then I gained it and now I’m stuck within the same few pounds. I want to really try hard to reach my goal so I can feel more comfortable in my body and more confident.

Let things go
Im someone who definitely hangs onto a comment someone made or things that happened 4 years ago and I really need to just let it go. I want to be more carefree and it would do wonders for my mental health.

Put my health first
Having CFS is really difficult and you have to put yourself first and listen to your body but it can be really hard. Sometimes you have to stay at home and miss out on get togethers or parties because its just not worth the flare up that follows. One things Im really bad at is not taking it easy when I do have a good day. I sign up for way more than I can do and then I end up suffering for the next few days.

What are some of your goals for the new year?
