My Love/Hate Foundation | Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation

(haha you can see my fingers in the reflection)

Im sure a lot of you reading this will be quite surprised to hear that I have a love/hate relationship with this cult favourite foundation. Ive actually never come across anyone who doesn't love this foundation in fact most people swear by it and the foundation Im talking about is the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation.

What does it do?
So, this foundation is a full coverage that comes in 24 different shades. I wear the shade 1.0 fair bisuqe which has soft warm undertones. Its a foundation that suppose to give you a flawless matte finish that will last you all day without feeling or looking heavy on your skin. Thats ultimately what sold me on this foundation because I usually have issues getting a foundation to last all day on my combo/oily skin type. Its also supposedly waterproof, is paraben-free and oil-free. Sounds perfect doesn't it?

How much is it?
This foundation retails for £29 and you get 30.0ml of product which is 1.o fl oz.

Application
This foundation is really easy to blend but it does set rather quickly so you do have to work fast. It works best with a damp beauty sponge but you get the best coverage by using a brush. My favourite brush to use with it is the Morphe M439 brush and the Real Techniques stippling brush.

Pros
- Matte finish
- Doesn't look cakey or flat
- Full coverage
- You only need a bit of product
- Beautiful packaging
- It has a pump! It annoys me so much when foundations don't come with a pump (Im talking to you Double Wear!)

Cons
- It oxidises
- Sinks into my pores on my nose
- Slides off my t-zone throughout the day
- Clings to dry patches

My thoughts
I feel kinda 50/50 about it and I do continue to wear it quite often I just don't wear it on days where I know I will be wearing it from AM to PM. I think it would work perfectly on dry skin with a good, hydrating primer and on normal skin types. The coverage is incredible and thats one of the reasons why I do love it and continue to wear it but it will never beat my love for the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.

Would I buy it again?
Is it worth the money though? Not in my opinion. I have tried it with multiple primers and none of them seem to make a difference in the wear of this foundation on my skin. So no, I probably wouldnt buy it again.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this foundation. Are you a fan or not?

  1. I've heard this one oxidizes before reading your review which is what has put me off. I'm so fair that it worries me I'll look especially orange midday!

    1. It does tend to go slightly orange on me and I am really pale. I couldve done with buying the lightest shade they do instead of the 2nd lightest. x

  2. I haven't tried this but it wouldn't suit my dry skin. I've read very mixed reviews on it xx

  4. When this first came out, it went straight on my wishlist. I'm pretty glad I held out on it. I'm not too sure how I would get along with it after seeing so many mixed reviews on it!
