4 Healthy Habits To Do Every Morning

Ive been on a sort of health kick lately, mainly since Ive gone vegan but also since I've suffered with M.E and Fibromyalgia and I always try to start my day off the right way. Try is the key word here because Im going to be honest, some days I struggle to get out of bed before midday especially if I've had a rough night or a flare up with my illnesses. My fellow spoonies will know what I mean here. And there are a few things I really do try to do every morning besides the obvious things and the most essential part: COFFEE!

Drink 1 pint of water
Everyone knows that you're suppose to drink 8 cups of water a day which is 4 UK pints of water or 2 litres. Drinking the majority of your water in the beginning of your day is really good if you are someone who does binge occasionally like me and it stops you from waking up every hour through the night to pee.

Meditate or stretch
Im a big fan of meditation. Ive been practicing it almost daily for the whole of 2017, although I have had a few weeks off, and it boosts my mood, eases my anxiety and sets me off for a good morning. I highly suggest meditation if you are someone who struggles with stress and anxiety because it does make a world of a difference. Another thing I do some mornings is stretch especially if Ive been in a lot of pain and my muscles are feeling very stiff and tight. The key for me with stretching is to breath and not to push myself too much.

Eat a healthy breakfast
I am bad at doing this. Not the healthy part but the whole breakfast part. I am someone who use to skip breakfast because I don't often wake up feeling hungry but skipping that meal usually fucks me up throughout the day and I end up ravenous by the time lunch time comes around and then I make bad food choices. Eating a healthy breakfast also kickstarts your metabolism and the health benefits are endless. My favourite breakfast is either porridge with fruit or some sort of muesli or granola with fruit. Ive been trying out new breakfast recipes lately so if you'd like to see a post about that then let me know because I would love to do some food posts.

Listen to calming music
I actually made a Spotify playlist just for my mornings with a mixture of some of my favourite songs that are on the quieter and softer side. I will play this music when Im getting ready in my room and when I go downstairs to make breakfast, etc. Music just puts me in such a great mood and singing at the top of your lungs and dancing around your kitchen is a great endorphins release.

  2. I tend to usually start my mornings with a cup of tea! But I think listening to calming music when I'm getting ready would be such a good idea to calm before a busy day x

    1. Ive never really been a massive fan of cereals so I dont have that problem. But starting your day with a big glass of water is key!

    1. I wish I was more of a fan of green tea because its so good for you but I do try to make myself drink it every now and then. Its such a good feeling :)
