15 Things I'm Truly Grateful For

After these two very upsetting and heartbreaking weeks its really gotten me thinking about how lucky and how grateful I am. It shouldn't take massive tragedies like the ones in Manchester and London to make you realise how lucky you are but sometimes it does take horrible events like this to make you stop, think and focus on the good and it definitely makes you think twice about what you have in your life.
I just want to post a short and sweet positive blog post today because honestly I don't want to be writing a post about my favourite beauty products, it just doesn't seem important at all right now. Instead I want to share with you all some things I am truly grateful for and all though we all have sh*t going on in our lives, at least we woke up breaking this morning.

1. I am grateful for my family. I have a massive family full of amazing and hilarious people who make me take a step out of my comfort zone and really care and love me just as much as I love them.

2. Having a bed to sleep in at night. This is something we can so easily take for granted. I am so lucky to have a safe home to come back to and a big, warm bed to sleep in.

3. My Doctors. I have a couple of really amazing Doctors I see often to help me with my CFS/M.E and Fibromyalgia. Often they are just there for support because theres not much they can do or anything they can prescribe me make it go away.

4. Clean water. We are so lucky here to have access to clean drinking water 24 hours a day when millions of people world wide are dying from drinking dirty water. And the same thing goes to food. So many millions of people are starving and I don't have to worry about if Im going to eat today.

5. My friends. I may only have a small group of friends but they mean the world to me. We have been friends for years and even though I don't get to see them as often as I would like because they all live busy lives, I know I can just give them a text and they will always be there on the other side.

6. My health. Now this may sound stupid and may surprise some of you but Im grateful for the health I do have. I do suffer with a chronic illness that leaves me in bed for days, not being able to work and leaves me in agony and most days I spend crying and wishing I was better. But no matter how bad you think things are there will always be people out there with a lot worse.

7. I am grateful for animals-especially dogs because they really are a mans best friend. My little dog Tomi is my baby, I love him to bits and he always knows when theres something wrong and he can sense when Im poorly and I need a hug. And nothing feels as good as coming home to an excited dog who loves you unconditionally.

8. Music. Music is such a powerful and amazing thing for so so many people. Music gets you through everything in life. There is a song for every mood, every day and to suit every person regardless of their gender, political views, race or religion. Music brings people from all walks of life together in times of tragedy and happiness and I think that really shows from the Manchester One Love concert last night.

9. I am grateful for sunny days. I love the feeling of the sun on my skin and how it literally brightens everyones day. The sun and warm weather is something we really do not take for granted here in Britain.

10. I am grateful for a warm, clean shower every morning.

11. I am grateful for my education and being able to read and write.

12. I am grateful for all the fun and incredible memories from holidays and parties I share with my friends and family.

13. My open-mindedness. I am grateful to be an openminded person and accepting person.

14. I am grateful for my blogging friends on the internet. Although I have never met you, you bring a smile to my face and give me a sense of community. I have learnt so much through everybody and Ive been given so much support which makes me so happy.

15. Lastly, I am grateful to have woken up alive, healthy and breathing this morning.

One last thing, please don't forget to donate to the victims and people affected by the attacks in Manchester and London. You can donate for the Manchester British Red Cross fund here and you can donate to the London attack fund here.

Lots of love, Becca

  1. It's so lovely to see how genuinely grateful you are for the things in your life, no matter how simple they might be such as clean water. That's so important and it's so refreshing to read a post like this :)
