My Reading List for 2017

Monday, 2 January 2017

This is something not many people know about me but I love reading. Im a book worm. Ever since I was a little girl I would always have my head in a book or a magazine. I think I read every single Jacqueline Wilson book in my early teens ('Kiss' was my fave by the way) and I actually met her on a school trip once and I could've died I was so excited! I still have her autograph in my memory box.

One of my goals for this new year is to read at least 15 new books. Its actually been my goal for the last two years and I never completed it but this year I have promised myself to take the time out to read everyday.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This the first book on my reading list because I actually got it as a Christmas gift. "Its a tale of love and romance. A tale of tragedy. Which are lies? Which is truth? You decide." Im a decent way through this book and its a great read. Its well written. Its addictive. Its a real page-turner. I have not put this book down since I started it and I really cannot wait to see how it ends.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
This novel is the only book published by poet and author Sylvia Plath. Its based on a true life with some of the names and circumstances changed. So many people rave about this book so I had to add it to my list. It really does sound fascinating.

The Little Book Of Mindfulness by Dr Partizia Collard
Mindfulness and mindful meditation is something Ive been into for a few years now but I really want to learn and explore it more and this book sounds really interesting. Its a book on how to start doing quick 5-10 minutes meditations daily so you can feel more relaxed and live a calmer life. Dr Collard goes over being in the now, mindful eating and a lot more. I genuinely cannot wait to give this book a read.

A Girl Is A Half Formed Thing by Eimear McBride
This award-winning novel is about a young girls and her brother and how they live with the awful news of his childhood brain tumour. Its suppose to tug on your heart strings and covers a number of different challenges and obstacles.

50 Shades Of Feminism
OMG I am so excited to read this book! Its a book where 50 young and old authors, actors, mothers and scientists reflect on their inspiration and what being a woman means to them.

How To Kill A Mockingbird
I just want to read this book because its a classic. Ive heard so much about it and I honestly want to just tick it off my list.

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
This is another book from Zoellas book club and honestly I don't know too much about it but I really want to read it. According to a lot of people its the 'new' TFIOS and I love that book and movie.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The beautiful Cartia ( +Cartia Mallan ) has got me completely intrigued with this book after she raved about how beautiful it is in one of her most recent vlogs.  This is a world famous and widely loved novel thats full of wisdom, magic and is suppose to be a life changing read and I don't know about you but if a book claims to change your life I will probably read it.

There are the few books I want to get through this year. Im sure my list will get longer very soon and I cant wait to get back into the habit of reading. What are some books you think I should read this year?
