Top 3 easy summer reads

I am a book worm. always have been and I always will be. I have read a good amount of books in my life but there are a few books I always turn back to for an easy, feel good read.

Easy reads are my go to for summer. Its so much easier to read an easy to follow book beside the pool on holiday than reading the Harry Potter series..well it is for me (I havent finished one of the HP books...shhh!)

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

This love story follows Eleanor and Park, two misfits from Nebraska in the 1980's. Eleanor is a sixteen-year-old read head with family problems and Park is a half-korean sixteen-year-old boy. They both meet on the school bus on Eleanor's first day at the high school and over time they connect through mix tapes and comic books. It really is a cute love story that had me "aww-ing" out loud.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

Honestly, if you dont know the storyline of this book (or movie) then where the blooming hell have you been for the last few years??!
The Fault in Our Stars is a novel by author John Green. The story follows the main character, Hazel Grace Lancaster, as she battles cancer. Not only is Hazel trying to live the normal life of a 16-year-old girl, but she is also struggling with what it will be like for her parents after she dies. While Hazel attends a church support group for cancer survivors, she meets a boy that is one year older than her, Augustus Waters. While Augustus had a type of cancer that causes him to lose his leg and wear a prosthetic, it also has a survival rate that is much higher than Hazel's death sentence.

Even if you have only seen the movie, I would highly recommend reading the book. I was hooked after the first chapter!

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging by Louise Rennison

I first read this book back when I was 11 and it instantly became my favourite book. I still go back to it and I'm 20 now.
"Its about teenager Georgia who lives with her mother, father, 3-year-old sister Libby and her wild cat, Angus. Georgia bumps into the popular and attractive Robbie (the "Sex-God"), while helping her best friend, Jas, subtly stalk his brother at the shop where he works. The problem is he's older and has a girlfriend,Lindsay, an older girl. Robbie dumps Lindsay when he discovers how mean
she is, but tells Georgia that he won't date her because she is too young for him. Desperate to prove him wrong, Georgia tries to bleach a strip of her hair blonde, but it comes off in her hand. On the bright side, Robbie is seduced by her oddity and they snog. However, Georgia's mum comes in at the very end and announces that they have tickets to go to New Zealand for the summer, putting a damper on Georgia's new summer romance."
. Its such a quirky and funny book which has also been turned into a film- definitely worth the watch. This book will have you LOL'ing I promise!

  7. I haven't read any of these books, but I have watched The Fault In Our Stars and Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging. Both were great movies! The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion is an easy summer read that I recommend! It's a cute and fluffy romance and it's not too complex with it's plot and characters.
