Top 3 easy summer reads

I am a book worm. always have been and I always will be. I have read a good amount of books in my life but there are a few books I always turn back to for an easy, feel good read.

Easy reads are my go to for summer. Its so much easier to read an easy to follow book beside the pool on holiday than reading the Harry Potter series..well it is for me (I havent finished one of the HP books...shhh!)

Things I Get Excited For As An Adult

This post is going to make me sound like a loser and that's ok. I am all for embracing your weirdness.  *blasts weird people by Little Mix*  Lets get weird! Because as an adult I get excited over the weirdest things- things I couldn't have cared less about as a little girl. I wanted to do this post after watching The Gabbi Show and Jenna Marbles videos on this because I could relate to a lot of those same things. And naturally I wanted to write about some of them.

Getting to know me better | beautylifebecca

Over the last few months I have gotten quite a few new followers, hello there lovelies! And I dont know about you but I really like to know a little about the bloggers I follow. Its nice to connect personally with bloggers and to get to know whos behind blog posts..and Im just nosey.

Summer Beauty Haul

I am hoping this is going to be the last haul post for a while because I have put myself on a beauty spending ban! It had to be done after going on holiday.

As I have put myself on a beauty spending ban, I am going to show you some of the last things I have bought over the last couple of weeks.

model co illusion lipliner
This liner was actually a "freebie", it came with the July issue of COMPANY magazine and I love it! This is the perfect nude lipliner, its not too dark and it doesn't wash me out either.

This is a brand I have been really intrigued by since becoming a blogger & as I was out of a body scrub I thought it would be a perfect time to try something of theirs. This is the first salt scrub I have ever owned and I'm really looking forward to trying it.

I am always for white nail varnish, especially in summer because it makes me look tanned even when I'm not. And I'm sure you know how obsessed I am with the gelly nail varnish from Barry M. I think I have all of the neutral shades now! Oppsies!

Simple is an all around great skincare brand, but I love their face cleansers the most. This has rice granules to gentle exfoliate your skin leaving a healthy and bright complexion without irritating your skin.

Batiste dry shampoo
Dry shampoo is a staple in my hair care routine and I am always running our of it. Without using dry shampoo, I would have to wash my hair every single day and a) I don't have the time or energy for that and b) its really bad for your hair- especially if you have coloured hair and I do. Fresh is one of the few scents I haven't tried from Batiste but I'm sure I will love it.

Seventeen CC cream- shop here
This CC cream covers and correct whilst leaving you with a matte finish- fab!! I picked up the shade light but it is definitely not light. Its at least 4 shades darker than my natural skin tone but once I'm fake tanned it looks fine. So I would say to stay away from this if you are very fair.

This was my holiday treat. I love Marc Jacobs perfume & I haven't had a bottle of it in a while. So when I was flying back from Mallorca, they had this perfume in the on flight magazine. It is obviously a lot cheaper at the airport and it was bank holiday weekend when I got it so there was another 20% off.
Hold your horses now, because I only payed £37 for this huge bottle of perfume. Amazing, I know!
It has top notes of mandarin, apple and pink grapefruit- the perfect scent for summer.

What are some of your recent beauty purchases?

5 Feminists you need to follow

Feminism. "Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve equal political, economic, personal, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment."

I'm going to be honest, I didn't fully understand what "feminism" meant until Beyonce released "Flawless". I always knew it was important but I didn't know much about it and I am still learning about it. I love how feminism is being talked about so much in the media and press, but it seems like in real life, in mine anyways, people don't talk about it much. That might be because I live in a very rural part of the country. But it should be discussed more often.

I know a lot of people are feminists these days which is great, and there are lists of people in the "limelight" who speak about feminism. I just happen to have a few favourites. I highly recommend you follow these people if you dont already.

Fifth Harmony
Asides from being a gorgeous group of girls who can sing and perform flawlessly (and I love them), these girls really do speak up about feminism a lot. This is great because they have a lot of younger fans as well as older fans, and I love that they are using their fame to educate people and to highlight the issues surrounding gender equality.

Matt McGorry
I am a huge fan of Orange Is The New Black so naturally I followed ALL of the cast members on social media after I watched the first few episodes. Matt is one of the few male celebrities who are firm believers in gender equality. He told ET online, "I think you can be a feminist and not necessarily identify as one which is what I think I had been for my entire life up until a few months ago. I realized the term feminist is actually less convoluted than I imagined it to be."

Emily Ratajkowski
Em Rata has spoken out about feminism so many times. Shes a goregous model who is unafraid to speak about "controversial" subjects. You'll probably recognise her from the Blurred Lines music video. A couple of months ago she published an eyeopening letter titled "baby woman" where she speaks about growing up as a woman and being sexualised from a young age. You can read it here if you missed it. A photo of her and Kim K topless also caused quite the stir a few weeks ago

Cartia Mallan
Cartia is a beautiful australian youtuber. She makes videos that are different to most peoples. She speaks about things that most yotubers are affraid to mention & she has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I highly reccommend you head over to her channel to watch her video all about feminism. I Love how she uses her platform to speak about these issues. She actaully inspired me to write this post.

Emma Watson
Obviously, I need to mention Emma in this post. Besides from being one of my favourite actresses of all time, she also does a lot for gender equality. She is a key ambassador for the campaign He for She, which is a great campaign. In her speech for He for she she said, "For the record, feminism,by defenition, is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes. It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals." You can find out more about the campaign over at heforshe.org

We all need talk more about issues like feminism, the more we talk about it the more people will learn about it & feel comfortable with discussing it.
I'd love to hear your honest thoughts about this post & where you are with feminism.

May Favourites | Skincare, Makeup & more

We are officially over half way through 2016 which is completely mad! May has been a good month for me for a lot of reasons, but I have discovered a load of different products that have become my all time favourites!

Soap & Glory Archery eyebrow pencil
I didnt know S&G had a line of eyebrow products until I saw so many bloggers talking about the archery pen being a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz so I went to Boots to pick it up. One end is a waxy pencil and the other is a thin felt tip. Now I was scared of using the felt tip end at the start because putting anything "felt tip" near my eyebrows sounded so wrong! But its actually great. I use it to outline my brows & then fill them in with the other end and my eyebrows dont budge all day. And they look natural!

Loreal True Match concealer
I am extremely picky when it comes to concealer. I can never find one that is the right shade for me and actually covers up my dark bags under my eyes. This one is great though! It has a yellow undertone to it so it cancels out the blue under my eyes and brightens the area. Most days, Ive just been wearing this concealer and powder on my face and thats it! The coverage is great and its cheap.

Too Faced Melted lipstick in Peony
This lipstick is to die for. Its the perfect shade of pink for me and I just love it! I have been wearing it for most of the month.

Piz Buin suncream
At the beginning of May, I broke out in heat rash on my legs & it was itching like a b*tch! So I bought the allergy version of this suncream and it did soothe my skin a lot when I was covered in heat rash from my neck down in Mallorca.

Aquafresh Intense Clean toothpaste*
I am rather fussy when it comes to toothpaste too! I have a sensitive mouth so I cant use really harsh toothpaste or my mouth will be burning & having braces I need to have a toothpaste that makes my mouth feel really fresh and this toothpaste does just that.

New Look handbag
This bag has been my go-to for this month. It has been glued to my side! LOL! I usually dont wear a lot if colour so I wanted to get a bag that had a pop of something but without it being "bam in your face". The little colourful pom-poms on the edge are so cute!

What are some of your favourites from the month of May?

*Aquafresh sent me a goodie bag of their new products for me to try out. But my opinion is 100% my own!

5 Things Im Looking Forward To In My 20's

Quote
As some of you will know, I turned 20 in March. Does that mean I'm a proper adult now? *cries* I've already done a post on "20 things I have learnt in 20 years" and I thought it would be interesting to share the 5 things Im most looking forward to in my 20's.

Travel
My main goal for my life, but especially my 20's is travelling. I want to see the world! I already have a few trips planned for this year to visit places I've never been to before. Life is too short to stay in one place and to stick to what you are familiar with. I actually did a post all about the 10 places I want to visit before I die. You can see that post here, but since writing that I have added a load of other places to my never ending list. The Maldives and Venice have now jumped up to the very top of my list! Well then, I better get saving...fast!

Being Healthy
I strongly believe that your health and happiness are the most important things in this entire world! My ideal of being healthy is a lot different to most peoples. I have Myalgic Encephalophathy which is the fancy term for m.e so my idea of healthy will be really different to others. For most of 2015 my idea of being health was being able to get out of bed, shower and change all by myself without having to go back to sleep after doing so. I was diagnosed at age 19 but after seeing a lot of different types of doctors, I am a lot better now. Thank God! But will I ever be free of it? Probably not. Will I be able to run the London marathon one day? Probably not. My health goals are a lot smaller than that. I want to be able to wake up almost every morning feeling ok and being able to get out of bed and achieve normal "everyday" tasks. I want to spend my 20's making as many healthy choices as I can to get myself into my best form like eating as fresh and clean as I can and drinking as much water as I can. I don't smoke or drink alcohol so I'm ok on that front. I will probably never have a six pack or be able to lift 40kg but who knows? Maybe one day I will be able to achieve all of the things I thought were impossible.

Meeting new people
My teen years were spend with me hiding behind others, especially in my mid teens when I use to suffer with really bad depression and anxiety and my constant panic attacks held me back in meeting new people. But that's a different topic for another day. So what about dating you ask? Well that was something that completely terrified me. I have never been on a "proper" date before because I was so worried about meeting new people. But it really does show how much you can change as a person because now I love speaking to new people. I still get anxiety but that's something I am really going to try to push away so I can meet some new peeps.

Exploring
I know I mentioned travelling as one of the things I'm looking forward to in my 20's, but I don't mean travelling when I say exploring here. I mean exploring who I am as a person and exploring different beauty and fashion trends and exploring the area where I was brought up. There is just a lot about myself that I want to explore and discover to see who I am as a person. Im not quite sure if that makes sense or not. Hopefully it does.

Self acceptance/self love
I am already half way to loving myself. I spent so many of my teenage years absolutely hating every inch of myself but now I'm starting to appreciate and love my body and what it can do. This is mostly to do with age and the fact that I have been ill. It makes you appreciate a lot of things you would take for granted. Another reason why I never use to like meeting new people was because I was so insecure in my own body and that is sad. And I know a lot of people struggle with self acceptance too but I do believe that it comes to all of us in the end. When I use to hear my mum or aunties saying that I always use to think "oh yeah, as if. I'm never going to love my body." But a lot of that is linked to hormones and changing etc. I still have a way to go, but hopefully in my 20's I will get there. If you are on that same path of self love and acceptance, check out Cartia Mallan on youtube. Her new video about self-love has opened my eyes and mind even more. She has such a beautiful soul and more people should watch her videos and learn from her wise words. Im sure you all will love her.

What are you most exited about in your 20's, 30's or 40's?

Love, Rebecca

A Week In Mallorca | Photo Diary

And the post-holiday blues have kicked in. *sobs*
Last week, I spent my time in the beautiful Santa Ponsa, Mallorca and I have fallen in love with the area. I have never been to somewhere so beautiful and felt so at home abroad!
I obviously wanted to do a post about my time in Mallorca but instead of blabbing on about how great and stunning it was, Im going to share my photos from the week with you all.

We stayed at the Globales Verdemar apartments. We payed extra for a sea view room and OMG was it worth it. We were literally on the sea front.

When I say that the hotel is right on the sea, it actually is. The pool area backs onto the sea. You just have a couple of steps and you are in the ocean.

Out of all the places I have visited in Spain, this has been the clearest I have ever seen the sea water. It was crystal clear!

If you ever find your self in Santa Ponsa, you need to go for a couple of drinks at Coco Bay. We made so many different friends at that bar. The staff are the loveliest people & the drinks are delicious!

(We definitely didnt drink two of these goant strawberry daiquiris in one night..opps!)

I cant wait to go back to Mallorca. I am already planning my next trip!

Have you ever been to Mallorca before?
