6 Ways To Feel More Accomplished Before You've Even Left Your Bed

(Photo from pixabay.com)

I am not a morning person, I am far from it to be completely honest! So its quite nice to be able to get things done in the morning before you've even got out of bed to feel a little more accomplished.
1-Wake up earlier.
Even if its 15 mins earlier than normal. Now this can be hard for me, but once I am up & out of bed I feel so much better!

2- Make your bed
Ok, so technically out of bed. But this seems so simple but making your bed can be the easiest way to feel like you've already achieved something before even leaving your room. Plus, it makes your room look pretty.

3- to do lists.
I am a bit of a control freak so I like to know everything I have to do & what is happening. I always write to-do lists, often at night before I go to sleep so that when I wake up in the morning I know what I need to do & remember. I know a lot of people do this.

4- meditate.
Meditation has changed my life- as cliche as that sounds. I have been meditating for around 2 years but it wasnt until the beginning of this month that I started doing it properly & religiously. Its what got me through taking my theory test- which I passed first time around ans I swear its because of meditation. You will feel so relaxed & energised after meditating and I feel like it puts everything into perspective.

5- Write everything down.
This sort of goes with point #3, but by writing everything down I mean a diary (or journal- whatever you call it). This is especially handy if you wake up from a bad dream because by writing it down it stops it from haunting you & playing on your mind as much meaning you have a clearer head & probably a better mood.

6- Drink a tall glass of water.
I often keep a glass of water on my bedside table for during the night but I never end up drinking it then, so once I wake up I will chug it down. And that way you are already 1/8th of your way to your daily water intake before getting up. Score!

What are some things you do in the morning to set your day off right? Do you make your bed every morning too?

Love, Becca x

  1. 100% agree with walking up earlier, I'm a morning person so it's never hard for me to lose the extra 30 minutes sleep but I know some who struggles. And yes to making the bed, it strangely makes me feel ready for the day.

    1. I am trying my hardest to become a morning person. Its so much easier if its sunny out but if its gloomy, theres no way I want to get out of bed early! Haha!

  2. I do like my sleep, although it's hard to sleep past 7am with two small kids, haha! I agree that getting up earlier makes a big difference and it seems like the day is also longer. x

  3. Hi!

Love this post! Just curious what your meditation method looks like. Did you read any books and/or listen to anything to learn "how" to meditate?? I'm trying to learn & looking for a method that fits me best!

  4. I love to have a cup of lemon water before I start my day. I noticed that days without it are some of my uneasy days. I am a morning person, but waking up is definitely the hardest part lol. Thanks for sharing becca! x

  6. I always try to wake up early, but I often fail because I sleep late...... This has to change because I want to be a morning person. I know for sure that when I wake up extra early, I get more things done. Helpful tips! Xx

  11. I always catch up on my social media channels, reply to comments on my blog & set up my tweets for the next day before I get out of bed. It helps, particularly setting the tweets, to make me feel set up for the day as it's on job ticked off my list that I don't have to try to remember during the day. Xx

  13. Lovely tips, Becca! I'm a real morning person and I still do a lot the steps you recommended. It got a little harder since I moved in with my boyfriend because I have to get up earlier than him everyday...
Did you do a blogpost on meditation? I'd be really interested in hearing about it :)
It's the first time I've been on your blog but I'm glad I found it.

  14. Great ideas, Becca! I feel as if I've achieved something just by even getting up and out of bed sometimes. It really does make you feel so much better. Also I love making my bed because it just makes the whole space look tidy and prevents you from hopping straight back in haha xx

  15. I agree with all of these tips, I think I'm more of a morning person and I like to do most of my work in the morning whether it's homework or if I want to workout, I'm really working on my 'water drinking habits' I feel like I should drink more water because I simply don't drink enough, I like to keep a 2 L bottle of water next to my bed to drink it when I'm awake, so far so good!
With all that said, amazing post and blog! (I'm new here)
I recently made blog post similar to this one, I'd appreciate it if you checked it out : http://femaleinspo.blogspot.com.es/2016/04/my-productive-morning-routine.html
