Skincare Wishlist

I love all things beauty. I got into skincare at a young-ish age. By the age of 13 I had a full on skincare routine to try and control that spotty teenage skin & I was obsessed with getting tanned legs because I use to hate my "milk bottle legs".
There are so many amazing skincare items out there that I have been dying to try. I narrowed down my list to 7 items I am lusting over.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (shop here)
This is an all-around must have item. I remember Tanya Burr raving about this cream a few years ago and it seems like the perfect cream to take travelling & to keep in your bag. It can be used for -

  • Chapped lip

  • Smoothes rough spots on your knee, feet and elbow
  • Cuticles

  • RRP £26 for 50ml

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (shop here)
For years now I have gone to buy this moisturiser but then I back out at the last minute. It claims to help strengthen the skins moisturise barrier and keep skin looking & feeling soft and hydrated.
    £30 for 125ml

La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I Targeted Breakout Corrector (shop here)
I have yet to find a good spot treatment so I am always on the look out for new ones to try that will hopefully work. I like the sound of this treatment. You are suppose to apply it to the targeted area twice a day to "correct" blemishes and breakouts.
According to the boots website, "effaclar A.I. is an intensive local skincare treatment that purges imperfections in-depth to accelerate their resorption and prevent residual skin marking:
Niacinamide stops the development of the breakout.
The piroctone olamine/glycacil combination purifies the seat of bacterial activity to resorb skin imperfections.
Micro-exfoliating LHA and repairing La Roche-Posay thermal spring water, activate the skin regeneration process."
    £9.50 for 15ml
Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse in dark (shop here)
I'm sure if you have an instagram account you are familiar with this fake tan. So many youtubers use this tanner & I really want to get my hands on it this summer. I am a relatively new fake tanner. I have only been tanning for 2-3 years now so I am still trying out different brands to see what I like the most. I prefer mousse tan over anything else so this tan should be great for me! I cant wait to buy a bottle.
It is described as "a tan made by tan lovers for tan lovers, Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse gives you a natural looking, sexy tan within minutes. The salon inspired formula provides you with an immediate color, while developing into a deeper, darker tan. The color guide technology ensures an easy, streak free application every time. It is both quick drying and deliciously fragrant. This product is best suited to Medium to Dark skin tones."
    RRP £25.03

Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (shop here)
Hot cloth cleanser are suppose to be great for very skin type. This particular cleanser claims to remove all traces of makeup, even waterproof mascara. Sounds good to me!!
    RRP £14 for 100ml
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pore (shop here)
If a face mask has charcoal and clear pores in its name you can bet that I will want to try it out. The description on says,
Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental pollutants, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief." and you can go over to boots or the Origins website to read more in-depth about this face mask.
It is recommended to use once a week after opening your pores with a warm, moist face cloth.
    £23 for 100ml

Champneys Detox Seaweed & Sea Salt Scrub (shop here)
This is a deep exfoliating scrub filled with natural sea minerals. I want to try this out because it should be great for removing fake tan & a great way to prep your skin before shaving. Honestly, I am sold on the fact that it is a sea salt scrub!
     RRP £12

There we have my current skincare wishlist. But if I actually buy these products, that will be a different thing! Haha!
What are some of the items on your skincare wishlist? Have you ever tried any of these items? Let me know what you think of them if you have.

TGIF- Makeup Geek & Morphe Haul

If you follow me on twitter you will know that I finally placed an order on Beauty Bay for some makeup geek shadows and some morohe products. I was having a rubbish few days and I just decided to treat myself to some makeup.
First of all, I have to say Beauty Bay has the best service! I placed my order just before 3pm on Wednesday and it came in the post by 1.30 on Thursday. And no I am not sponsored by or working with Beauty Bay.

(left-right Grandstand, curfew, showtime,  cupcake, mai thai & bitten)

Makeup Geek foiled shadow in showtime & grandstand. £7.95 each

Makeup Geek eyeshadow pan in cupcake, mai thai(duochrome) curfew & bitten. £4.95

Makeup Geek Blush Pan in Spell Bound £7.95
I had to try out one of their blushers and I don't have anything like this in my collection. I actually don't own that many blushers, maybe 5 max. But this is a gorgeous matte coraly-pink perfect for fair to deep skin tones.

I also bought the Morphe magnetic palette to put the shadows in because I think they look a lot nicer than the Z Palettes (don't kill me). And this palette only costs £5.50 and it holds 12 shadows and bonus, it has a huge mirror in it so its perfect for travelling.

Yes, I jumped on the band-wagon and I got this palette. If you don't know about this palette, it is an orange based neutral eye shadow palette. You get 35 shadows that range from matte nudes to shimmery blacks and for less than £16 it is a real bargain. Perfect for gifts.

This brush is a dupe for the Mac 217 but it is a fraction of the cost but the quality is amazing!

This is perfect for cream products. I actually plan on using this for my concealers.

Have you tried out makeup geek or morphe before? What are some of you favourite MUG eyeshadows?

How To Get A Better Nights Sleep- 10 Tips That Actually Work

I am somewhat of an "expert" when it comes to not being able to sleep. I have struggled with sleeping all of my teenage life. I use to suffer with insomnia & I would have to take sleeping pills but it would knock me out for days so I has to find my own ways to relax & sleep. I still get times when I cannot sleep but for the most part my sleeping is good now.
So if you have sleep problems or you want to make sure you get a good night of slumber before a big day, here are some tips that should will help.

    Lavendar pillow mist
When my insomnia was flaring up big time around 3 years ago, my nana bought me a Lavendar pillow mist for christmas & it completely changed me. Lavendar is the perfect scent for relaxing and sleeping so by spraying your pillow with it, it will instantly soothe you. As soon as I smell my pillow I feel relaxed. It works really well for me.
Avon, Boots & This Works have great pillow mists.

    Comfy pjs
There is nothing worse than wearing pj's to bed that arent soft & cosy. I would recommend buying some nice soft pj's. They dont have to be expensive, I have found some great soft sets from Primark for under £5.

No internet or phone for 30-60 mins before sleeping
This has helped me so much! I use to go on my phone everynight before trying to sleep but since I've stopped doing that I can almost guarantee I will fall asleep far quicker.

    Have a routine
Wash your face, brush your teeth and get dressed for bed all in one go that way you are getting yourself ready for bed without any distractions.

    Have a warm drink
Whether you are a coffee or tea drinker, having a nice warm drink before sleeping is a nice way to feel cosy and relaxed. All though this may be just be the british in me yelling "a cup of tea will fix everything". Haha! Just make sure its decaf!!

    Fresh bedding
This is just a really simple thing to do. But having fresh, clean bedding feels cosy and nice specially if you use a really yummy smelling fabric softner. I like a lavendar scented one.

I am a huge fan of meditating and I have been for a good year now. I know a lot of people are a bit sceptical when it comes to meditating- I was one of them. But it is an amazing way to relax your body and mind before bed.

Write a to-do list & whats on your mind
If you are an overthinker like I am, writing down your thoughts and what you need to do the following day can be life-changing. Its also nice to look back and see how you were feeling at a certaint time. And by having a little notepad at your bedside will save you from worrying about forgetting to make an important call, etc.

    Tidy up your space
This may be down to my ocd, but I can only sleep when my room is tidy. Clean home= clean & clear mind.

    Make your bed
I am well aware that this sounds stupid. Why would you want to make your bed if you are just going to get into it and mess it up? Well making your bed before crawling in is great because you'll be going to sleep without having the sheets slipping off and the duvet a heap on your mattress. Even if you just fluff up your pillows a little. But this reallly helps with me.

What are some of your tips & tricks for getting a better night sleep?

5 Makeup Brands I Want To Try This Year

Hands up if you like buying new makeup?! I love makeup & I love discovering new makeup. There are so many makeup brands out there that I want to try but I would need a mortgage to try them all!! But there are 5 brands that I am desperate to try out this year so I better get saving..haha!

I do not know why I havent tried Nars yet because it is a brand that I have wanted to have for years & years now.  I would love to try out the lip satin crayons, the creamy concealer & the pure radiant tined Moisturizer and obviously I would love to try out the infamous laguna bronzer and the orgasm blush.

    Charlotte Tilbury
Oh my gosh, I am dying to try out Charlotte Tilbury. Im hoping when I go to London in April that I will be able to go to her store in Covent Garden. I really want to try out between the sheets & glastonbery lipstick because I have nothing like Glastonbery in my collection and between the sheets looks like a staple. But look how pretty the eyeshadow quads are! I literally want to buy every single one!

    Estée Lauder
First of all, I love that Kendall Jenner is an ambassador for Estée Lauder. Shes a beaut! But I have always wanted to try out the Double Wear Stay-in-place foundation because honestly it sounds too good to be true so I want to see how it actually is. Also, I love the sound of the Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara. Any mascara that claims to add volume to my lashes you better believe Im all over it! And I would love to own it just for the tube...its so pretty and would look lovely in some blog pictures! Haha!

    Anastasia Beverly Hills
Honestly, I just want to understand the hype around ABH. I would love to try the bestselling brow wiz & liquid lipsticks because they look so so pretty!! I want every shade! I love lip & brow products so I will have to give these two a go asap.

This brand just screams luxury to me. The blushers are at the top of my list from Illamasqua, I love the shap of the packaging. They look so nice & pigmented and I've heard so many good things about them. Tanya Burr & Zoe Sugg love this brand so it must be good. Lol! But the only problem with this brand is its a little more on the expensive side...but worth every penny Im sure!

And there ya go. The 5 makeup brands I really want to try out this year.

What are some brands you are dying to get a hold of? Do you like any of these brands? If you do, please let me know what your favourite items are & why.

    The Perfect Sunday- A Guide

Sundays are my favourite day of the week. Its the perfect time to relax & plan out the following week as I generally have no plans that day. Since I was little we would always take Sundays to chill out or go out for Sunday lunch, but on those stay-at-home days there are a few things I love to do.

    Morning -
    Brunch in bed
Generally you will have more time to cook on a chilled Sunday. I love to take the time to cook a nicer breakfast/brunch than I normally would.

click here for my recipe on healthy & flourless breakfast pancakes or if you're more of a toast person check out this Toast Post by Poppy Deyes. (the avocado & chill one sounds and looks heavenly).
    Catch up on tv shows
Sunday mornings are perfect for watching Netflix or catching up on some youtube videos. I generally like to catch up with the Saccone-Jolys, I love that family. It's nice to sit in bed with a cup of tea & just chill out.
    Face mask
I love the Soap & Glory heating face mask. It feels so pampering & luxurious and if makes my skin feel super soft.

My perfect sunday is spent in my pj's.

I love the Rosie for Autograph Nightwear for something nicer & sexier. Rosie's entire range with M&S is goregous too! Im dying to get my hands on her makeup range.

Topshop Nightwear is my favourite comfy pj's. I love their nightshirts & graphic sets. I have a really cute Toy Story oversized t-shirt I like to wear. Its so comfy!

I do this every Sunday evening. I feel so put together when I have a fresh coat of nail polish on my hands and feet & its one less thing to do before the week starts. Plus its relaxing. I love Barry M Gelly nail polish & poundland also have a great range of quick drying nail varnish, surprising I know!

    Sunday Roast
Ok, so obviously I have to include this. The perfect sunday definitely includes a good sunday dinner. Whether you love chicken or beef (I'm a chicken fan), a sunday roast is the best.

    Plan for the upcoming week.
Whether thats planning blog post, outfits or meals its great to do this on a Sunday knowing you will be starting a new week organised.

    Tidy up
I pretty much do this every night before bed, I'm a clean freak & everything has to be in its place. But on a sunday, I like to hoover & clean everything. Its just nice to wake up on a monday to a clean room and house.
That is how I have a perfect Sunday. What are your favourite things to do on a Sunday? Is it relaxing or hectic?

    Top 5 Pink Lipsticks

Who doesnt love a pink lip?! There is nothing more feminine than a nice pink lip especially as Spring is creeping up on us. The first lipstick I ever owned when I was a little girl was a muted, chalky-pink (not the nicest shade) & I loved it, Im so sorry 8 year old me lost you lippy. R.I.P. LOL! Anyways, here are my absolute favourite pink lipsticks.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in  Peony- I think everyone knows how much I love the Melted Lipticks because they are all I talk about! Haha! But they are amazing & this pink is so pretty. Its more of a nudey-pink compared to my other pink lipsticks. Definitely worth the £19!

Mac Lustre lipstick in Flamingo- This looks like a bright coral in the tube but once on it has more of a pink finish to it. But the coral pigment makes it a perfect colour for summer time.

Topshop lipstick in Innocent - Looking for the ultimate pink lip? Well this is it. I love this lipstick, it works for my pale skin & my tanned skin in the summer. Love it!

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in 080 Strawberry Shortcake- Now if you've followed the beauty community online for a few years now you will remember the hype around the Revlon Lip Butters, especially this shade. I swear everyone and their mother owned this lipstick & rightly so because it is a lovely pink with slightly glossy & frosty finish.

Maybelline Coloursensational in 175 Pink Punch - This is the deepest shade of pink lipstick I own. I dont really wear it as often as my others but when I do I just dab it gently on my lips for a softer look.

Top to bottom- Melted Peony, Flamingo, Innocent, Strawberry Shirtcake & Pink Punch

What are some of you favourite pink lipsticks? I would love to try some new shades this Spring.

How I Stopped The Spots! 3 Tips & 3 Products

Hi everyone! I have struggled with my skin since year 8, thats almost 7 years now and it sucks! damn hormones! I have sensitive, oily combination spot prone skin but I have finally managed to get my skin under control. I do still get breakouts but this is the best my skin has ever been & I thought I'd share my 3 favourite products and tips with you because everyone has to deal with spots at some stage of their lives.

Bioré deep pore charcoal cleanser- This cleanser looks scary. It is black from the natural charcoal & it cleans 2x deeper and better. And a little of this goes a long way, I have had this bottle for months! After I use it my skin feels so clean and fresh and when my skin is breaking out quite badly I will make sure to use this twice a day and in no time my skin will be looking better. A definite favourite you should try out.

100% tea tree oil- This is great for putting on breakouts. When I start to feel a big spot brewing on my face I use dab on some of this & it stops the spot from being as big and red.
Tips- add a few drops to you moisturiser at night time to fight spots when you sleep.
    (P.s- great for ingrown hairs)

Lush tea tree water toner- OMG this toner water is amazing! I havent been using it for that long but I have noticed a big improvement in my skin. I just spray some of this on my skin in the morning & nighttime before I use moisturiser and it feels so refreshing and it doesnt irritate my skin which is a bonus!

Here are 3 tips that I swear by for better skin-

    Less washing.
The biggest help I have found with my skin is not washing it too much. I use to wash my face 2 times a day but now in the mornings I just splash my face with water and Im done.

    Eating healthy.
I have been eating as healthy as I can because of my health but it has shown so much in my skin. This might be because Im feeling better but eating healthy has helped so much.

    Drinking water.
This is the oldest tip in the book but it really does work, my Nana would lways tell me to drink water! By drinking lots of water my skin isnt as oily & it is so much clearer. Its amazing! Just start by drinking a few glasses a day and see if you notice a difference.

What products do you like to use to fight breakouts? Id love to hear some more tips and tricks and let me know if you like any of these products too.

Bourjois Velvet Rouge Lipstick- is it any good?

Liquid lipsticks are popping up everywhere right now and when I saw that bourjois had their own range I had to buy one to try out, (I hauled it here). First off, I am really happy because Bourjois is cruelty-free & they have a large selection of colours. They have a total of 17 shades ranging from pale pinks to dark plum & they retail for £8.99, a real bargain if you ask me.

The packaging is really chic looking and I love the fact that it has a lipgloss applicator. I like to use my fingertip to smudge it out a little bit for a softer everyday look but it is definitely buildable. These lipsticks are really longlasting, I was super suprised! I wore it for 6 hours and I had lunch & coffee in that time and it was still on my lips.

I have shade 09 Happy Nude Year and it goes on as a velvety cream but sets to a matte finish. It dries properly within a good 30 seconds and it doesn't bleed or feather.

Overall, I think these liquid lipsticks are amazing! I feel like they are at the same quality, if not better, as the Too Faced Melted lipsticks and a fraction of the price!! I want to go and buy a few more shades, especially the darker colours & Im going to recommend them to all of my girl friends.

You can buy them at Boots & Asos.

Have you tried this lipstick? If you haven't I would recommend next time you take your bum down to Boots & pick one to try. You wont be dissapointed!

    Makeup Wish List- February

    Flourless Healthy Breakfast Pancakes

Some mornings, cereal just doesn't float-my-boat and I want something a little nicer but I still don't want anything unhealthy. About a year-or-so ago, I found a recipe for healthy pancakes on Pinterest, (you can follow me here shameless self-promotion*) and I just have to share it with you all!
